Distraught, Missing Valley Teen Returns Home

The boy went missing after stabbing himself in the hand with a knife during an argument with family members.

A missing 17-year-old boy whose family said was distraught over a medical condition returned home today after going missing in the Pacoima area.

The boy went missing after stabbing himself in the hand with a knife during an argument with family members, police said.

He had last been seen about 12:45 p.m. Saturday, riding a bicycle north on Bartee Avenue from Gain Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The teenager, who lives with his family on Gain Street, is undergoing a mental health evaluation, an officer at the LAPD's Mission Station said.
