District Attorney Reviewing Death of 2 Good Samaritans

A 19-year-old Glendale man who crashed his car in Valley Village could face charges in the electrocution of two women.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office is investigating whether it should file criminal charges in the August deaths of two women who were electrocuted as they tried to rescue the driver of a crashed vehicle in Valley Village.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 22, Glendale resident Arman Samsonian, 19, lost control of his car while trying to make a turn, shearing a hydrant and a power pole at Magnolia Boulevard and Ben Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Downed power lines mixed with gushing water, creating a 4,000-volt charge that killed nearby resident Stacy Schreiber, 39, and 40-year-old Irma Zamora of Burbank when they attempted to render aid, according to the LAPD.

Patch last reported that authorities were investigating the accident as a reckless driving case, but in an email, North Hollywood Division Capt. Peter Whittingham says the matter has been handed over to the district attorney's office for a ruling.

Patch will keep you posted once a decision has been made.

More than to cover a bill the Los Angeles Fire Deaprtment charged to the victims' families, while a replacement light post at the crash site was removed until a new, lower energy lighting system is installed at the intersection.

Because they weren't illegal aliens.

Such a sad tragic, freak accident. The victims families should not be billed. It seems like Californians tax dollars pay for a lot less needed and truly wasteful programs. Road cleanup after an accident should never be covered by innocent victims families. That is disgusting.

Based on multiple eye witness reports this man was guilty of at least reckless driving and at worst street racing. Had this been an "accident" at normal speeds that would be a different story. Once he engaged in reckless driving or street racing the seriousness of his crime escalated as should the punishment. When convicted or upon reaching a plea deal, serious prison time should be meted out.

“Republicans can do it,” said http://www.coachoutletmls.com Jennifer Duffy, a Senate political analyst at the nonpartisan Cook Political Report. “It’s just getting a http://www.hermesbeltsoutletns.net lot harder.” Rob Jesmer, the executive director of the National http://www.coachfactoryoutletion.com Republican Senatorial Committee, said Thursday that Republican candidates were within http://www.coachfactoryonlinemb.com reach of victory in 10 to 12 competitive races, with Mr. Romney’s improvement in the polls http://www.coachoutletonlineef.org lifting candidates in states that were out of play six weeks ago.But time is dwindling. The implications for the next http://www.coachoutletonlineeu.net two years cannot be overstated. If Mr. Obama wins a second term, his hand would be much strengthened http://www.coachfactorystorebg.org by a Democratic-led Senate, even a narrowly divided one, as opposed to unified Republican http://www.coachoutletonlinetpc.net majorities in the House and the Senate. At the moment, Democrats are given little chance of winning the http://www.coachoutlethcs.com net 25 seats they would need to take the House, though they could well gain House seats. If Mr. Romney wins the White House, even a one-seat Democratic http://www.coachoutletb1.com

The state railway, Deutsche Bahn, operates http://www.outletcoachstoday.com what it calls - using the English that http://www.coachoutletod.com infuriates language purists - a Call a Bike scheme. http://www.coachs-outletcar.com There is a bank of red bikes outside the station. On the bike, http://www.coachoutletdp.com there's a telephone number which you call, and http://www.coachoutletwo.com the voice at the other end gives you a code to http://www.coachfactoryoutletsp.com unlock the bike. When you've finished, you lock it http://www.coachfactoryoutletli.net to something fixed and call the number with a code and somebody picks it up. http://www.coachfactoryoutletce.org You will be charged eight cents a minute. But most of us have our own bikes. We http://www.coachoutletonlinelc.net do not wear helmets. It is foolish, but we don't. I always mean to - but I http://www.coachoutletonlinesc.com don't. I realise that the brain is man's second favourite organ - but I still http://www.coachoutletonlinelsa.com leave my helmet behind. There is an argument now that if cities insist on http://www.louisvuittonoutletct.com helmets for bike-hire schemes, then people simply don't ride bikes. And if http://www.louisvuittonoutletti.org people don't ride bikes, then they're less fit and that means that more of them http://www.coachoutletrf.com die of heart-attacks.On this argument, insisting on helmets raises the overall death.
