Burbank

A Burbank parolee was in custody today and facing possible drug and weapons charges, authorities said.

Alexander James, 27, was arrested Wednesday at his residence in the 2300 block of Chandler Boulevard, said Burbank police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

James was booked on suspicion of possession of narcotics for sale, possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and being a felon in possession of ammunition. James was held without bail, due to a parole violation.

Officers sent to James' home to conduct a parole-compliance inspection found "suspected heroin, suspected methamphetamine, a pill bottle containing a variety of prescription pills, suspected marijuana, and numerous drug paraphernalia items," Ryburn said in a statement.

Police also found a 9mm semiautomatic handgun in the living quarters, Ryburn said.
