Family Of Woman Killed In Toluca Lake Hit-And-Run Speaks Out

Karen McCauley, 61, was struck and killed on the 4100 block of Cahuenga Boulevard.

The family of the woman who was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Toluca Lake on Friday night spoke to CBS2 and KCAL9 about their pain and pleaded for the driver to turn themselves in.

Karen McCauley, 61, was, near Lankershim Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, and was pushing a cart across the street when she was struck, Borihanh said.

The interview revealed several personal details about McCauley, including that she was pushing the cart because she was out recycling to make ends meet. According to relatives, McCauley was almost completely deaf after contracting rheumatic fever as a child and had also recently become a widow.
