Fire at Valley Village Pre-school Quickly Extinguished

City firefighters needed just 10 minutes to knock down a non-injury fire at the back of a Jewish pre-school Monday in Valley Village, a fire department spokesman said.

The flames ignited at the back of the Valley Cheder child care center at 12051 Burbank Blvd. in Valley Village at 7:38 a.m., said fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

The department dispatched 25 firefighters to the scene and put the fire out at 7:48 a.m., Humphrey said. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
