No Injuries in Valley Village Apartment Fire [Video]
Four units are damaged by the blaze, which is still being investigated.
Fire tore through a four-story apartment building in Valley Village Wednesday, but there were no immediate reports of serious injuries.
The fire in the 5200 block of Bellingham Avenue was reported shortly after 10 a.m. and was extinguished in an hour and 23 minutes, Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said. Firefighters used ladders to rescue two residents.
The blaze ignited in a single apartment on the third floor and flames ended up spreading to the fourth level, said Capt. Jaime Moore. Overall, four units suffered damage from the fire, he said.
Paramedics evaluated six people, who mostly complained of smoke inhalation, but no one was transported to a hospital, Moore said.
More than 170 firefighters were assigned to the fire, Humphrey said. How the fire started was not immediately known. A damage estimate was not immediately available.

Thirty-three-year-old Robin Nemany lives with his mother in one of the third floor units that was damaged in the blaze and escaped from his balcony thanks to a ladder provided by the fire department.
He says some of his belongings were destroyed, but that he's glad he made it out without a scratch.

"Everything is replaceable," Nemany said.
