LAPD: Hit-and-Run Driver in North Hollywood Abandons Injured Passenger

The crash at the intersection of Saticoy Street and Whitsett Avenue is reported at 11:54 p.m. Monday.

Authorities are searching for a man who fled after a two-vehicle collision in North Hollywood that left his passenger with a serious leg fracture.

The crash at the intersection of Saticoy Street and Whitsett Avenue was reported at 11:54 p.m. Monday, said Officer James Norton of the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division.

After the collision, one of the vehicles struck a utility pole, and its driver ran off, abandoning his injured passenger, a man in his 30s who suffered a broken left femur, he said.

The suspect was last seen running northbound on Whitsett Avenue from Saticoy Street, Norton said. He was described as Hispanic, 6 feet 6, 140 pounds, wearing all black clothing.

The other driver involved in the collision complained of pain but was not taken to the hospital, Norton said.

Anyone with information about the crash was urged to call the LAPD's Valley Traffic Division at (818) 644-8001.
