All of the victims -- three of them juveniles -- were transported for hospital treatment, police said.

The horse, which was eventually corralled by ranch hands, apparently spooked other riders' mounts, causing the victims to be thrown from their saddles, according to broadcast reports.

"One of the horses spooked in the group, startled and spooked the other horses, so they all took off headed for home and some of the people came flying off and hit the dirt," witness Jim Nichols told ABC7.
