A man was shot in the leg in Valley Village and detectives were working to identify the suspects, police said today.

The shooting was reported at 11 p.m. Sunday at Bellingham Avenue and Albers Street, said Sgt. Season Nunez of the Los Angeles Police Department's North Hollywood Station.

A 40-year-old man was shot in the leg and was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where his vital signs were stable, she said.

"The suspects were seen fleeing on foot," Nunez said. "It doesn't appear the shooting was gang-related."

The motive for the shooting was not immediately determined, and detectives were working to identify suspects, she said.
