I'm tired of always hearing bad news about North Hollywood here on the patch and its usually always from the suspecting parts of it it; it makes me sick. I know all about that area on laurel Canyon/Vanowen. I know that a couple years ago while I was staying with my cousin, a Black guy was kidnapped by a Latino gang near that 7/11 and was never found again. Its time to break off that part of North Hollywood and split the border at Victory. Time to shake the dirt off.

I agree! Gives our property value a filthy name.

Ditto that Maria. North of Victory should be absorbed into Sun Valley. It isn't fair that everybody else gets what they want. Valley Village, West Hills, West Toluca Lake, Sherman Oaks expansion (twice), Lake Balboa, Border retraction in Tarzana. We should mobilize and demand a border retraction. the character of NoHo south of Victory is totally different than north of Victory.

LAT's Crime database shows trends. Fact-- NoHo South of Victory often has more crime than North of Victory. Fact-- Metro attracts undesirables who "come to watering holes" to prey upon individuals using or residing near the watering holes. It's basic Crime 101. Build it; they'll come-- predator and prey. Reported Crimes in a 7 day period North Hollywood Jan 26 to Feb 1st, 2013-- South of Victory-- 13 Reported Crimes; North of Victory-- 6 Reported Crimes. South of Victory has a RC rate of (+) 50 % more than the area North of Victory for that period. Sun Valley--16 Reported Crimes during the period. North Hollywood-- 19 Reported Crimes, exceeding Sun Valley. Violent crimes-- Sun Valley, 3 assaults, 1 robbery; NoHo-- 3 assaults, 3 robberies. 2 robberies and 2 assaults South of Victory; Violent Crime rate 50% higher than North of Victory; 12% above Sun Valley. NoHo 6 month Reporting Period-- 159 violent crimes; 1,201 property crimes. 155.9 crimes per 10,000. (Sun Val-- VC-121; PC 728; 103.8/10,000, a lower crime rate). There's a better chance in NoHo of rape (9), assault (87), robbery (62), burglary (184), theft (451), theft from car (234), car stolen (332) than in Sun Valley. However, Sun Valley leads in 187's by 5 to1. "Facts, ma’am nothing but the facts." Opinion-- all 3 areas are urban garbage pits; don't think for a second South of Victory is any better or any safer.

north hollywood is a bad place period either way you look at it don't fool yourself if your on one side of vanowen or the other side you need to watch your back the police won't always catch the suspects and clean things up you have to police the police and get them aware that means calling them nonstop the same people complaining are the same people for all these stupid pot shops that indirectly cause violence as well theres drugs prostitution and gang activity in full force so if you want north hollywood a cleaner better place start busting these drug dealers and prostitutes i'd like to see more active police officers arresting these people but remember theres dirty cops out there too things are out of control that means we the people need to shut the tube off and get active and take the steets back ourselfs instead of complaining about how crummy one part of the neighborhood is and how its bringing down your property you have nobody to blame but yourself you are part of the neighborhood if you don't like it you can move out or do something call the city call the police get active and change things because it's up to you
