Man Suffers Smoke Inhalation Putting Out Apartment Fire

The fire is reported at 9:57 p.m. at 5636 N. Denny Avenue.

A 43-year-old male tenant suffered smoke inhalation tonight trying to put out a fire in a two-story apartment building in North Hollywood.

The fire was reported at 9:57 p.m. at 5636 N. Denny Avenue, near Burbank Boulevard, and was knocked down in 16 minutes, said Matt Spence of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Forty two firefighters responded and managed to contain the fire to a single second-story unit. Spence said.

The injured man was taken to a hospital, with what Spence called minor injuries.
