Manhunt for Armed Man in North Hollywood Ends in Early Morning Arrest

The suspect has yet to be identified.

A possible gunman who led police on a neighborhood search in North Hollywood Thursday evening evaded authorities until the early morning hours the next day when he was caught and taken into custody, the Daily News reports.

The armed suspect was spotted around 7:20 p.m. around Magnolia Boulevard and Riverton Avenue. The person of interest pointed a gun at officers as he was being detained and fled on foot, dropping the weapon, which was was later recovered according to NBC4.

Police shut down eight surrounding blocks. One officer was hurt while in pursuit and was expected to be OK.

The suspect was arrested at 5:49 a.m. Friday, but his identity has yet to be made public, according to the Daily News.
