Motorcyclist Dies in Crash on Transition Road Between 101 and 134 Freeways

A 41-year-old Granada Hills man was killed Saturday when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car on the Ventura (134) Freeway in North Hollywood and the car's 34-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, authorities said.

An officer assigned to the California Highway Patrol's West Valley area heard the crash about 2:45 a.m. and found the motorcyclist down on the eastbound side of the freeway west of Vineland Avenue, CHP officials said.

Los Angeles County firefighters pronounced the man dead at the scene about 3 a.m., the CHP said. His name was not released.

Alexander Myers, the driver of the 2006 Kia that collided with the bike, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked at the Van Nuys jail, according to the CHP.
