Motorist Killed After Crashing Into Bus Identified

Authorities Tuesday identified a man who was killed when the car he was driving collided with a Metro bus in North Hollywood.

The crash occurred just before 3 p.m. Monday at Saticoy Street and Laurel Canyon Boulevard, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

John Ferreira, 41, of North Hollywood died at the scene, said coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

Paramedics checked about 20 people on the bus, and nine of them, including the bus driver, were taken to hospitals for treatment of minor injuries, Humphrey said. The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.
