No Injuries in Tire Shop Fire on Sherman Way

Firefighters knock down the structure fire at Discount Tire Centers in about half an hour early Thursday.

No injuries were reported in an early Thursday morning fire at a tire shop at Sherman Way and Laurel Canyon Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The structure fire at Discount Tire Centers was phoned in at 12:34 a.m. and was knocked down by firefighters at 1:03 a.m., said LAFD Spokesman Brian Humphrey.

City News Service reported that heavy smoke was pouring from the one-story building. But Humphrey said he did not know yet if the fire damaged the exterior of the business.

LAFD HazMat was at the scene around 11:30 a.m. investigating the cause of the blaze.
