North Hollywood Apartment Destroyed in Late-Night Fire

One person was evacuated from the apartment without injuries.

An apartment in North Hollywood was destroyed by a fire knocked down in 14 minutes, authorities said Friday.

The fire occurred in an apartment building in the 7300 block of Lankershim Boulevard, between Sherman Way and Saticoy Street, and was reported around 11:10 p.m. Thursday, Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The fire was knocked down by 52 firefighters, Scott said.

A videographer at the scene said a male occupant of the apartment was evacuated without injury.

No injuries were reported, Scott said.
