Three men were charged Friday with capital murder in the robbery and slaying of a 21-year-old man in Pasadena earlier this month.
Peter Parra, 35, of Pasadena, and Kevin Jesse Cabrera, 25, of North Hollywood, were ordered to remain jailed without bail while awaiting arraignment Feb. 7 in Pasadena Superior Court.
The third man is being sought.
The three are charged in the Jan. 15 shooting of Zane Goldstein as he drove away from a Pasadena apartment complex.
Goldstein died two days later as a result of the gunshot wound.
The murder charge includes the special circumstance allegation of murder during the commission of a robbery, as well as a gang enhancement.
Prosecutors will decide later whether to seek the death penalty against the three, who are also charged with one count of attempted second-degree robbery.
To date, the District Attorney's Office has not filed charges against three other people arrested in connection with the shooting. They had been identified earlier as Raymond Ramirez, 23, and Ruby Conchas, 20, both of Pasadena, and Ashley Monique Ceballos, 20, of North Hollywood. The status of any charges against a 17-year-old Pasadena boy who was taken into custody was not immediately known.
The investigation is continuing, according to Sandi Gibbons of the District Attorney's Office.
