2 Arrested in West Valley Pot Shop Raid

Two people are facing drug charges following warrants being served at a medical marijuana dispensary in Woodland Hills.

Two people were arrested Tuesday in west San Fernando Valley when police served a warrant at a dispensary and its owner's home, though the Los Angeles Police Department is not commenting yet on why the business was raided.

Gennady Tikhonov, 54, of Sherman Oaks and Vyacheslav Bugakov, 39, of North Hollywood, were booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale and held on $20,000 bail each, according to Los Angeles police.

Detectives from the Topanga Station served a search warrant at All Organic Collective in Woodland Hills Tuesday afternoon, then searched the owner's home in the 14700 block of Valleyheart Drive, police said.

About 17 pounds of pot valued at $51,000 and a pound of hashish valued at $4,500 were confiscated, as were three guns. At each location, about 200 marijuana plants were found under cultivation, police said.

Officer Christopher No said he could not comment on why the dispensary was raided because of an ongoing investigation, but added that the act was not random.

A number of violations could have prompted an investigation such as permitting issues, No said.
