The body was reported in the southbound lanes, south of Lankershim Boulevard, at 12:23 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada said.

"A party bus (a 2001 Ford F55) was southbound on the 101 near Barham (Boulevard) when, for an unknown reason, an individual exited the bus and was subsequently struck by an unknown number of vehicles," Posada said.

The CHP report did not disclose if the freeway traffic was moving. Midnight weekend traffic jams on the 101 in Hollywood are not uncommon.
