One person was killed and three other people were critically injured in a three-vehicle crash in North Hollywood Saturday, a fire department spokesman said.
The crash was between an SUV and a sedan, and the SUV careened out of control and struck two pedestrians, killing one of them, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
The man driving the SUV was critically injured, and the driver of the sedan was moderately injured, Scott said.
Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the crash at Vineland Avenue at Vanowen Street at 9:21 a.m.
Los Angeles police closed the intersection, just northwest of Bob Hope Airport, as they investigated.
