Police Chase Ends with Crash in West Toluca Lake

At one point, the motorist reportedly turns around on the freeway and drives into oncoming traffic.

A reckless driving suspect who crashed at the end of a high-speed police chase on the eastbound Ventura (134) Freeway in West Toluca Lake was in police custody Friday night.

At one point during the chase, which started just after 9 p.m. and lasted less than 15 minutes, the 28-year-old suspect drove the wrong way in the eastbound lanes before turning around, said a Los Angeles Police Department desk officer at the North Hollywood Station.

The driver hit speeds around 100 mph while being pursued, according to KCAL9.

The man attempted to run after losing control and crashing into a center divider near the Ventura-Hollywood (170) freeway split but was quickly apprehended, the officer said.

No injuries were reported.
