Police shot and killed a man near Vineland Avenue and Archwood Street in North Hollywood Sunday night.
Police went to the scene in response to a report of a man with a gun, said Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section. He was described as around 25 years old.
"They encountered the suspect in the street and there was an officer-involved shooting," Eisenman said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not say what the man did to draw police fire or if a weapon was recovered.
Investigators from multiple agencies were called to the scene to begin their shooting investigations, Eisenman said.
One witness told the CBS2 that the man allegedly threatened a friend of hers with a gun.
