The smell of smoke halted one of the Metro Red Line trains at the Universal City Station Thursday afternoon, according to the transportation authority.
The operator of a northbound train reported the odor of smoke coming from the vehicle around 4 p.m., said spokesman Luis Inzunza.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott said there were no signs of a fire and that the smell was cleared out by the station's ventilation system.
Inzunza said the northbound train was to be towed and that the Red Line would operate on a single-track for the time being, so riders could expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
