Street Vendor Fatally Run Over Identified
The 64-year-old man was outside the crosswalk when he was struck by a pickup truck.
An ice cream vendor who was struck by a pickup truck and killed as he pushed a cart in Sun Valley was identified Tuesday by the coroner's office as 64-year-old Carlos Gomez.
Gomez was struck around 7:25 p.m. Monday by a Ford Ranger headed east on Tuxford Street near Glenoaks Boulevard, said Lt. David Ferry of the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division.
Gomez was crossing to the north side of Tuxford Street, Ferry said.
