Sun Valley Brush Fire Quickly Contained

A fire burned about two acres of brush Sunday in Sun Valley, but no one was injured, a city fire official said.

The fire was reported at 4:53 p.m. near 10077 Sunland Blvd., said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Rescuers arriving at the location reported flames burning uphill with five to seven mph winds, Scott said.

With more than 100 city and county fire personnel, including three helicopters, the blaze was held to two acres "due to aggressive ground attack and precise water drops," Scott said.

No structures were damaged.
