Teen Killed in Fiery Crash on 170 Freeway Identified

The collision on the southbound portion of the freeway at Victory Boulevard was reported at 6:37 p.m. Sunday.

A 17-year-old Santa Ana boy who was killed in a fiery crash on the Hollywood (170) Freeway in the Valley Glen area was identified Thursday by the coroner's office as Miles Christy Eubanks.

Eubanks was a rear-seat passenger who was trapped in a car that was hammered when it was caught between two SUVs, according to a California Highway Patrol officer.

The crash on the southbound portion of the freeway at Victory Boulevard, reported at 6:37 p.m. Sunday, occurred when a 2004 Chevrolet rear-ended a disabled 2007 Jeep in the fast lane, the officer said.

The driver and front-seat passenger exited the vehicle to check on the driver of the Jeep while Eubanks stayed in the car, the officer said. The Chevrolet then overturned when it was struck by a 2013 Lexus SUV.

"The rear passenger of the Chevrolet was unable to escape the vehicle or be extricated before the entire Chevrolet was consumed by fire. The passenger died at the scene, and was pronounced deceased by L.A. City Fire Department paramedics," according to the CHP officer.

The 19-year-old right front seat passenger, Allen Guanzon-Palawar, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Driver Roland Valencia, 23, of Anaheim, had minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital, the officer said.

The driver of the Jeep, Barbara Camacho, 38, of Sun Valley, was not injured. The Lexus driver, identified as Sunny Sun, 55, of Los Angeles, also suffered minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment, according to the officer.

Hi! Yes, something is definitely happening there. I've stopped by a few times in hopes of bumpingRead More into the new owner but I haven't been so lucky. I've left my business card with a few construction workers but no one has gotten back to me so far. From what the workers told me, it's going to be a new restaurant. Those are all the details I have for now, but I'll keep you posted as soon as I found out more. Thanks!
ok thank you
