Transient Bites Officer in Scuffle near Laemmle NoHo Theater
Another officer gets a taser jolt. Two sent to the hospital.
One North Hollywood police officer was bitten and one officer got a taser jolt while trying to subdue a man found lying in the middle of a busy street causing cars to swerve around him, a lieutenant said today.
The officers were called to the Laemmle Noho 7 movie theater at 5240 Lankershim Blvd. at about 10 p.m. Sunday on a report of a man disturbing patrons, according to Los Angeles police Lt. Albert Gavin.
When they arrived, they found the man who appeared to be a transient lying "in the middle of traffic," on Lankershim Boulevard and vehicles swerving to avoid hitting him, Gavin said.

The man resisted officers' efforts to arrest him and was so combative that officers attempted multiple times to use a taser to subdue him, Gavin said.
The suspect bit an officer and another officer got a jolt from the taser, the lieutenant said.
