A non-injury fire damaged one unit in a North Hollywood apartment building today, displacing a family.

The fire was reported at 6:54 p.m. at 6502 Vineland Ave., between Kittridge Street and Victory Boulevard, said Cody Weireter of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Fifty-one firefighters responded and knocked down the flames in 15 minutes, confining the damage to a single third-floor unit, Weireter said.

The Red Cross was summoned to assist the family in finding temporary shelter, he said.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.

Great. Clicked on this story to read more about it and the first thing I have to read this comment : " shits on fire". Classy indeed.Slowly I think I'm having enough of Patch.

I don't disagree with you! It was the only publicly posted photo of the fire. I've adjusted the window so as not to read the "colorful" commentary of the Twitter user. Patch has some exciting changes coming up this month (or into early August). Stick with us!
