Woman Struck, Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in Toluca Lake

The crash is reported at 8:55 p.m. in the 4100 block of Cahuenga Boulevard.

A woman in her 50s was struck and killed tonight in Toluca Lake by a vehicle driven by a hit-and-run driver.

The crash was reported at 8:55 p.m. in the 4100 block of Cahuenga Boulevard, near Lankershim Boulevard, said Officer Bruce Borihanh of the Los Angeles Police Department. The site of the crash is near Universal Studios, as well as the borders of Studio City and North Hollywood.

"The female was found lying in the street," Borihanh said, adding that witnesses at the scene reported the collision. "The suspect vehicle is a four-door sedan with collision damage to the front end last seen traveling at a high rate of speed."

The victim was pushing a cart across the street when she was struck, Borihanh said.

She was struck by a second vehicle whose driver stopped and remained at the scene until police arrived, Borihanh said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, Borihanh said.
