Your Picks for the Worst Intersections and Roads in North Hollywood and Toluca Lake

Busy intersections and potentially dangerous turns top a list of your picks for the worst driving spots in North Hollywood and Toluca Lake. Check out the below map for problem areas across L.A. County.

Last week we asked Patch readers in Los Angeles County to name their worst intersections, roads and freeway spots; and with your input, we produced the above map from reader contributions.

Busy intersections and potentially dangerous turns topped a list of your picks for the worst driving spots in North Hollywood.

Several readers noted that the three-way intersection of Lankershim Boulevard, Vineland Avenue and Camarillo Street is problematic.

One anonymous reader wrote:

"Those drivers that have never had to go thru there do not understand that the intersection has 2 left turns for each N/S/E/W driver. The confusion puts them, the pedestrians (that have a LONG walk to take to cross) and other drivers in danger when they make incorrect turns or sit in the middle of the intersection tying up traffic. A dedicated left turn signal for all four and have the green lights for forward and left turns synced to go around like a clock together. Not sure if that makes sense on paper but it does when I say it and use my hands."

Another anonymous commenter singled out the Strathern Street and Bellaire Avenue intersection:

Cars heading west on Strathern seem to be looking at the traffic light at Coldwater (the second street ahead) rather than the Bellaire stop sign which comes before they get to Coldwater. If they are in the left lane of Strathern they may not even notice the stop sign which is one and a half lanes to the right and partially obscured by small tree branches. As a result, MANY cars just speed across the intersection on their way to Coldwater. There have been too many near misses of vehicles and pedestrians....and some have NOT missed.

And the Riverside Drive and Cahuenga Boulevard intersection was also criticized by another reader who did not want to be named.

There is crash after crash, after crash at this intersection. They just put in left turn arrows but half of the time they are not coming on. Someone needs to do something about this. People in our neighborhood have written, called, emailed, faxed our Photo Op Councilman, Tom Labonge, who does not so much as have the courtesy to call back or have anyone in his office in Toluca Lake or Los Angeles respond.

Please check out the map above for more reader-generated problem intersections and freeway spots.

How to Add Your Own Contribution to the Map

It's not too late to add your own — simply click the "Add" button in the upper-right corner of the map and enter the location of the problem area and a description of the problem. You can also drag the marker directly onto the map if you are not sure how to describe the intersection.
