Votes involving two big NoHo projects are heading to the board of directors of the Mid-Town NoHo Neighborhood Council on Wednesday.

First up is request by incoming gastropub Fat Dog for a conditional use permit to serve beer, wine and hard liquor. The restaurant is currently in the process of relocating from its Montrose spot to the former location of the Avery Schreiber Theatre.

A recommendation for a boutique hotel to overtake the site of the now-shuttered Maximillian's Restaurant is also up for discussion. Ikon Hospitality bought the 18,230-square-foot lot at 11326 Weddington Ave. a few months after Maximillian's went out of business. The property includes an large parking lot and an on-site duplex used for storage.

The proposed project stands at four stories tall and is designed to house 43 guest rooms.

The Mid-Town NoHo Neighborhood Council meets at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the North Hollywood Parks Senior Center. 5301 Tujunga Ave.

What do you think about either of these projects?
Do not take a Lane out on Lankershim for bikes September 10, 2013 at 09:38 AM
I would be all for this new Hot dog place if there was not for the beer and wine and hard liquor. Arin you forget to write that the hotel would have 38 parking spots and 8 place for bike parking. I would be all for the hotel if it was not for the 8 bike parking spots.

Bikes: This is 2013. I sincerely doubt the operator of a "Hot dog place" is going to let his customers grab a chili dog, toss down five or six vodka gimlets and hit the street. Please leave your Puritan attitudes to the trash heap of history, where they belong.

Bikes: Why your hatred of bicycles? Did the training wheels fall off yours and you ended up with a "boo boo" on your chin. Once again, this is the 21st Century. Come join us. We like it here a lot better than some nebulous day in the past for which you seem to long.
