An estimated 50,000 people attended the at Woodley Park in Van Nuys on Saturday.
Among the crowd was me, your faithful North Hollywood-Toluca Lake Patch editor, my lovely wife and wonderful daughter. We were there for some fun, but I was also there scouting out stories for my fellow Patch editors in the San Fernando Valley.
There were over 100 resource booths at the festival. I found , which is located in North Hollywood. I found the , which works with the LAPD in Chatsworth, and I found the of Studio City. I found Grace Phipps of the TV show , which and stars a couple of local talents from the Valley. And I found much, much more, including an OK gyro, games, rides, concerts and many people volunteering their time, efforts and energy to keep the Valley safe for our children. I walked away wondering how we have any crime at all with so many incredible people dedicated to making the Valley safe.
I did not find Fritz Coleman, NBC weatherman, and the event's master of ceremonies, but that's OK, I will find him again soon. The is going to be right around the corner.
