WATCH: 'Great Wall of Los Angeles' Is Reborn
Crowds turn out to celebrate and admire the freshly repainted and refurbished mural along the Tujunga Wash flood-control channel.
The community celebrated the Mural—a monument to interracial harmony in America, said to be the longest mural in the world.
The Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC) presented keynote speakers, musicians and poets. Great Wall muralist Judy Baca, a UCLA art professor, shared stories and thanked the generations of artists who contributed their talents and hard work to create and restore the historical mural.
City Controller Wendy Greuel, city Councilman Paul Krekorian and state Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes offered praise and admiration for the artists' grand accomplishment.

The Great Wall of Los Angeles is located along the Tujunga Wash Flood Control Channel on Coldwater Canyon Avenue, between Burbank Bouleavard and Oxnard Street, just north of the 101 Freeway in the community of Valley Glen.
