Day 2: Countdown to the Colfax World Fair – Win a Hockey Stick Autographed by the L.A. Kings!

The biggest annual event in Valley Village takes place this Saturday.

The Colfax World Fair comes to Valley Village the day after tomorrow. The tents are already going up, the silent auction items have been wrapped, and the Colfax track has been strung with caution tape to keep the students from getting too close as they gawk at the big top coming to town. Here are five incredible items you’ll see on the big day:

Attraction: Slideasaurus

This ride is so big we need to build the rest of the fair around it. The dinosaur is 85 feet long and features a 190-foot continuous climb and 180-degree slide. This is definitely the attraction for the perfect photo op.

Special Area: Trashtastic

Colfax mom Ann Closs-Farley, the world’s most unique costumer (and she has awards to prove it) will once again have her own area for creating amazing accessories out of recycled materials. This year guests are invited to make their own duct tape wallets, painted sunglasses, paper brooches, and cloth necklaces.

Food Vendor: Coldstone Creamery

Studio City Coldstone Creamery will be kneading a blending your choice of ice cream and toppings right before your very eyes – and drooling mouths.

Entertainment: YDP Drill Team

This incredibly talented group of 3rd to 5th grade girls just won 3rd place in the Beyond the Bell Drill Team Competition. They’ll be performing routines to Rihanna’s Break it Off, Beyoncé’s Run the World and MIA’s Bamboo Banga.

Silent Auction Item: LA Kings hockey stick sign by all the Kings team members

It’s probably not a used stick because it would contain too much DNA evidence from hockey fights.

The Colfax Word Fair takes place Saturday, June 2 from noon – 7 p.m. at Colfax Charter Elementary School, 11724 Addison St., Valley Village, 91607. Admission is free and all money raised pays for student programs at Colfax. Silent auction items can be viewed by logging clicking here.
