After the Boys in Blue Play, It's Time to Watch the Ladies

"A League of Their Own" will be screened after today's Dodger's game.

The 1992 film "A League of Their Own" will be shown on Dodger Stadium's DodgerVision screens following today's Los Angeles Dodgers-Pittsburgh Pirates game.

Cast members Lori Petty, Megan Cavanagh, Tracy Reiner, Anne Ramsay, Bitty Schram, Patti Pelton and Ann Cusack will throw the ceremonial first pitch.

"A League of Their Own" was inspired by a documentary produced by its screenwriter Kelly Candaele on the experiences of his mother, Helen, and his aunt, Marge, in the All American Girls Professional Baseball League during World War II.

Lee Lacy, an infielder-outfielder with the Dodgers from 1972-78, will sign autographs in the left field pavilion plaza from 2-4 p.m.

The Veteran of the Game will be former Army Pfc. Anthony Corsi of Apple Valley. Corsi was drafted in 1943 and served in the 120th Infantry Regiment, 30th Division as a lead scout in combat, providing intelligence to his superiors. He was deployed to France, the Netherlands and Germany and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

Corsi's accolades included the Purple Heart, Silver Star and Bronze Star.

All auto gates will open at 1:45 p.m. and all stadium gates at 2:15 p.m. for the 4:15 p.m. game.
