Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw pitched a no-hitter tonight in an 8-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies at Dodger Stadium.
Kershaw struck out a career-high 15 batters in his first career no- hitter. One batter reached base -- Corey Dickerson, leading off the seventh on a throwing error by shortstop Hanley Ramirez, who had injured the ring finger on his throwing hand Tuesday.

The no-hitter was preserved two batters later when Miguel Rojas, playing his 11th game in the major leagues, fielded a ground ball behind third base, then threw on a bounce to first baseman Adrian Gonzalez to retire Troy Tulowitzki.
Kershaw completed the no-hitter by striking out Dickerson on an 87 mph slider.

The no-hitter was the 22nd in franchise history, the most by any Major League Baseball franchise, and the Dodgers' second this season. Josh Beckett pitched a no-hitter May 25 at Philadelphia.
This was the first time the Dodgers have had two-hitters in the same season since 1956 when they were located in Brooklyn. Those no-hitters were thrown by Carl Erskine and Sal Maglie.
