I am so very sad today, to have lost a true friend, a friend that gave me some very good advice the…Read More first day we met, back in 1982, at an event in California. Thanks to Jeff Krulik, there is a video, part 1 and part 2 that you can view on one of my web site pages.
The link on the left of the page when you get there is called: Airwolf Hawkes Rainbow!. Go to the bottom of that page, and click on Ernest Borgnine On The Bus video, then see part 2. If you are prompted to sign up to see the links, it is a short sign up, so please do so. You will see a side of Ernie, that really only his close family and friends have gotten to see. The other page is called The Love Of Airwolf, there you will see pictures of Ernie, as well as some pictures of him in Airwolf. Ernie played Dominic Santini in the Airwolf series that he loved so much making as an actor.

Rest in peace, Mr. Griffith. You brought so much joy into people's lives that you never knew.…Read More Thank you for sharing your music, acting and comedy. My very first exposure to Andy Griffith was in an elementary auditorium in Birmingham, Alabama where we all listened to his witty "Romeo and Juliet". He was so funny!
My sincere condolences to his family and close friends.

Andy was one of the regular shoppers at Gelson's on Laurel Canyon and Riverside Drive when he lived…Read More in Toluca Lake. He mingled with others in the market and was always gracious and accessible. Last time I saw him, he and I were mock fighting over ears of corn. He was one of our treasures -- under-estimated by some Hollywood standards of superstardom but a giant of spirituality, humor and caring (a fine musician, as well). Rest in peace, Andy

@ The Forum. Zilla, Problem identified. Solution, mass deportation. Felony crime was carried out…Read More against everday folks. Zilla didn't ask for the browning of LA. It didn't line my pockets or bring any benefit to my family. Out of control illegal Immigrante's of the Villaraigosa mold have committed cultural genocide of the area. The salad is stale and the Fed.Gov rotten. Eat it and don't die from the indigestion. Basic city services on a regular basis.LOL. Hear, hear Patch readers, Alex White for city council. A caring voice of compassion and progressive ideas. Zilla seconds the motion.Get rid of the career political hacks. Choking on your lethargy lemmings? Get off your duff and make your vote count. Get rid of the regulars. City needs irregulars that think outside-the box and bring a fresh new perspective to problems. LA is a broken city today. Clean streets, garbage pick up, hilarious. Do you prisioners of unreasonable taxation really expect more for your$$$$?

@Jack... by happenstance, I found the missing construction container while commuting to the Green…Read More Arrow nursery-- same graffiti and all. It's been mysteriously teleported to Arleta, and it has now taken up residence on Woodman just past Branford. It is situated in the parking lane. It's still filled with the concrete and block material from a construction site, and it is now accumulating the Arleta locals’ household trash. I guess it’s now Alarcon's problem. When it finally makes it into either Zine's or Smith's CD, perhaps it will find a suitable home, such as a dump. The trash on Strathern east of Bellaire is still piled on the street-- in the bike lane-- and on the sidewalk, but now in two places-- north and south side. Trash abhors loneliness. The “Broken Windows” concept of Bratton's day is apparently out of fashion these days. There must be a lack of funds for city services, except for political-agenda driven picnics and parking and street sweeping enforcement of course, but only in certain high volume, economically feasible areas— like near restaurants and storefronts.

@ Forum. No comment on your local street situation although I think its indicative of conditions in…Read More LA in general. Areas outside of the westside seem to get less service and care. Streets that are more aesthetically appealing and photogenic provide an opportunity for LA city government to embellish it's merits, particularly aimed at world-wide tourism, movie industry, theme parks, fine dinning, leisure time travel, beach activities, touring areas of ethnic diversity. LA has imploded. No need to wait. Future is here, today. Government cannot provide basic services, fire, police, garbage pick up, street cleaning and repair, even education. LAUSD has close to one million students in 2012. Lets extrapolate ten years into the future. I'd say maybe 1.5 million children to educate, many english challenged whose parents do not possess rudimentary english language skills.Mission impossible. LA was sacrificed by the Federal government in its "Salad Bowl Theory" of immigration. It occured to quickly and on a massive numerical scale. Political IOU's were cashed, favors given and special-interests served, whose? Not Zilla's. LA 1960, paradise lost.

This is beyond shocking!! What a tragic end for a great and very loved elegant lady. Knew her since…Read More she was about twenty-one years old. Zina's love for disabled children & animals was always well known. She contributed more to the world of arts than perhaps 10 other talented people. She will be so very missed! May she rest in peace and may her killer be found, so that justice may be done.

I was just talking with my family about Mr Wolf. I remember him acting out parts of history during…Read More class and he made history come alive. I actually decided to go to college with the intention of becoming a history teacher because Mr Wolf made history fun back in 1975. Mr. Wolf was my AP History teacher at North Hollywood High along with Mr. Reeves. He and Mr. Reeves…Read More were such a funny pair. One particular story is that Mr. Reeves said nobody important ever came from the South (I believe we were on the Civil War at the time). He said it so many times that I wasn't sure if he was kidding or not. I went to Mr. Wolf after class one day and said I thought Harper Lee was from the South and she wrote one of the best novels of all time. He encouraged me to shout that out when Mr. Reeves did it again, which he did, and I raised my hand, and simply said "Harper Lee." Mr. Reeves merely said, "Yep." Wonderful lesson for us. I'm glad he and his wife had a chance to play inn-holders. Just found this site as I received my 40th high school reunion notice. Thanks!
