I am a local writer and photographer interested in capturing the true "feel" of the community. I have lived in the North Hollywood area since 1978. In 1984, I graduated "Magna Cum Laude" from CSLA with a BA in English Lit. In 1989, I obtained my MA from the same institution after writing a novel rather than taking "comps" or regurgitating a dissertation on another author's works. In 1998, at the tender age of 42, I graduated from the Los Angeles Police Academy and began working locally in law enforcement. I decided on this life transition after witnessing the North Hollywood Bank of America shootout. After a brief stint in LE, I was taken under the wing of a retired L.A.P.D. narcotic's detective, Hank Foresta. While employed for his private investigator's firm, I worked as a field investigator doing "Sub Rosa" investigations of worker's compensation and other types of insurance fraud, as well as conducting investigations of theft from both private companies and from the City of Los Angeles. During this period, I also worked as a photographer's assistant for a well-known Burbank commercial photographer-- Otto Jensen-- who was gracious enough to teach me the subtle nuances of fine print development. I also maintain a current C-10 electrical contractor's license, and I am a certified California journeyman electrician. Since graduating High School in 1973, I have been involved in electrical construction. I have owned my own business since 1982. Currently, my focus is on security consulting as it pertains to "hardening the target" of both commercial and residential properties by proper lighting and video surveillance.
