Leah Ruffin, Neighbor

Born and raised in New Orleans, Leah T. Ruffin is a freelance writer and non-profit organization professional.  Leah spent the last 11 years living in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Howard University, and attended graduate school at George Washington University studying International Education and Education Policy. Her masters thesis explored definitions, theories and measurements of poverty in the US and abroad. Leah has worked in the non-profit, private and governmental sectors of Washington throughout the past six years, most recently in program coordination and fundraising and development in the arts and education non-profit sector. Leah is a published author with works in academia, print and web media.  Her interests include youth and children, poverty eradication, human rights, education reform, sustainable development, fashion, art and pop culture.  Leah and her husband founded Ruffin Entertainment, a theatre arts and film production company dedicated to "education through entertainment." Leah and her Husband live in North Hollywood, CA.
