The Colfax World Fair is Today!

The 15-Day Countdown to the Colfax World Fair ends today as the biggest annual event in Valley Village comes to town.

Valley Village is home to about 22,000 people, and about a third of that number will be venturing down the street to participate in the Colfax World Fair. This is the biggest annual event in Valley Village, second only to the popular 4th of July Parade. Not only will guests expect to have a great time, but every dollar that they spend will go directly to helping the children at Colfax Charter Elementary School.

This home town fair is produced exclusively by parent and community volunteers and features family-friendly games and attractions, two food courts, a huge silent auction with over 500 items, raffles, and musical performances throughout the day.  My Gym hosts Toddler Town, an area exclusively for babies and children under 6 years of age. An adjacent street will be closed for the day and transformed into Morella Water Park - an entire block filled with water slides, obstacle courses, and a tent housing Ultrazone Laser Tag.

The Colfax World Fair takes place today from 12 noon – 7:00 pm at Colfax Charter Elementary School, 11724 Addison St., Valley Village (one-half mile east of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and four blocks north of Riverside Drive). Admission and parking are free. Credit cards and cash are accepted to purchase tickets for attractions, games and food.

The adjacent street to the west of Colfax will be blocked off, creating Morella Water Park - entire area for super soaking fun in the sun! Follow the Yellow Brick Road under the huge balloon arch to enter. Inflatables include Goliath, Double Splash Rapids, and Slip & Slide, the water balloon game Hydro Blaster, and the tween/teen crowd pleaser Velcro Wall and Ultrazone Laser Tag. Community Tables:

Come and meet the public servants representing or helping your community, including members of the Valley Village Homeowners Association, Neighborhood Council Valley Village, the Toluca Lake Lions Club, and Sherman Oaks Pediatric Dentist Dr. Michelle To, who donates thousands of packages of toothbrushes, toothpaste and dental floss to preschools throughout Los Angeles. There will also be a First Aid Booth, a Baby Changing Booth, and a very busy Volunteer and Information Booth.

Last year the Colfax World Fair attracted approximately 7,000 guests and raised $140,000 in a single day. This money is used to fund student programs that have been cut by LAUSD, extracurricular activities, teacher’s aides, and other fundamentals that make Colfax Charter Elementary such a highly sought school.
